Under the direction of the Early Childhood Director, the Early Childhood Teacher will plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum, per the YMCA philosophy of education, that is supportive of the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of all students enrolled in the early childhood daycare program. This role involves collaborating with the director, designing and implementing classroom curriculum, writing daily lesson plans, managing the classroom, providing direct care and supervision of children, conducting student assessments and creating individualized plans, conducting ongoing observations and evaluations, maintaining records, modeling and enforcing disciplinary techniques, conducting parent conferences, maintaining positive relationships with parents, engaging parents as volunteers, maintaining classroom equipment, adhering to various standards and regulations, and participating in required training. As a 24-hour operation, all staff may be asked to work weekends, evenings, night shifts and/or holidays.
