About The Position

Acelero Learning is seeking Early Childhood Assessors to be responsible for assessing children's early childhood language, literacy, and math skills. This is a temporary research/assessment position that requires independent transportation to centers, conducting three to four assessments per child, accurately calculating and recording assessment scores, and engaging and redirecting young children to remain focused on the assessments.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Background checks are required for this position.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and on a schedule.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, especially using Google Suite apps; spreadsheets, basic data management systems, and internet navigation.
  • Must be honest, dependable, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to sit most of the time with some bending and reaching.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend periodically.
  • Ability to engage in repetitive movement of wrists, hands, and fingers – typing and/or writing.
  • Ability to work frequently at close visual range (i.e. preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, transcription, computer terminal, extensive reading).
  • Ability to receive and respond to oral communication.
  • Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters or active enrollment in a Master's program preferred.
  • Focus on child development, early childhood psychology, or related fields strongly preferred.
  • Experience with data collection is preferred.
  • Experience teaching children is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Completes company training on administering assessments.
  • Spends 8-14 days in each assessment period (fall, winter & spring) in our schools.
  • Administers the assessments.
  • Scores assessments, enters data online, and submits them via FedEx, UPS, or USPS.
  • Participates in assigned meetings, events, and training as required.
  • Performs any and all other duties (functions) as assigned.
