About The Position

Hexcel is seeking an Early Career Program - Product/Process Engineer for its Kent, WA location. This is a two-year rotational program designed for college graduates with leadership ability and academic excellence. The program includes two 12-month assignments. The first year focuses on the Manufacturing Engineering team, ensuring smooth production processes and gaining hands-on product knowledge. The second year involves the Product Management team, where participants will lead cross-functional teams for qualification and new product introduction efforts. Upon completion of the program, participants will remain with the Product Management team. The summary pay range for this position is $75,000 – $117,693 annually.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree preferably in a technical field.
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Candidates must have less than 3 years of formal work experience (excluding intern & co-op experience)
  • Must be willing and able to relocate, travel domestically and internationally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member.
  • Strong relationship builder.
  • Eligible candidates must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Engineering Degrees: Material Science, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing.
  • Minor in business is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide internal direction, tracking, coordination, and reporting for key programs utilizing contemporary program management tools and practices.
  • Lead multi-functional teams for qualification/new product introduction efforts for assigned product lines.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by participating in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen activities; gathering and analyzing data; and helping implement corrective actions that improve quality, safety, productivity, and workflow.
  • Design and deploy improvement tools such as visual controls, mistake-proofing solutions, and workplace organization aids to reinforce standard work and sustain improvements.
  • Coordinate and track CI projects by supporting Kaizen event planning, maintaining documentation, monitoring progress, and preparing clear status updates for teams and leadership.
  • Develop accurate bids and estimates by reviewing RFQs, collecting and validating cost and operational inputs, and assembling compliant cost models, pricing summaries, and proposal packages.
  • Partner cross-functionally to deliver high-quality proposals on time by coordinating inputs, managing deadlines and approvals, preparing final bid documentation, and maintaining records to continuously improve proposal effectiveness and win rates.
  • Assist in reporting on key metrics for the organization.
  • Support new product development and trials.
