Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 0–1 years of relevant internship or professional experience in electrical engineering or building systems design.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering principles and building systems.
  • Exposure to AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or co-op experience in consulting engineering or building design.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC).
  • Interest in markets such as healthcare, commercial, higher education, or science & technology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to engineers and project teams in the design and development of building electrical systems.
  • Assist with the design of power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage systems for a variety of building types.
  • Support development of construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze engineering data to support project execution and design decisions.
  • Generate accurate and concise technical reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, structural, and architectural staff.
  • Perform field observations and assist with site visits as needed.
  • Ensure work is delivered in alignment with WSP quality standards and applicable codes and safety requirements.
