Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Early-Career Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineer as part of our contaminated site assessment and remediation practice in our Pittsburgh, PA office. The position will have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations while also learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering.
  • Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional interpersonal, technical writing, oral and written communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Local to Pittsburgh, PA area.
  • Regular field work and overnight travel - up to 60% when necessary.
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) registration or ability to obtain within one year of start date.
  • Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation technology.
  • Experience with assistant project management responsibilities.
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro, AutoDesk Civil 3D, HydroCAD, Microsoft Access, Modflow, and/or EVS.

Responsibilities

  • Interact and build working relationships in a diverse office of professionals and provide valuable contributions to real-world environmental projects, including a variety of environmental compliance, investigation, and/or remediation projects.
  • Fieldwork such as soil, surface water and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance.
  • Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation.
  • Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation.
  • Aquifer testing and hydrogeologic data analyses.
  • Groundwater modeling and 3D data visualization.
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting.
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures.
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
  • Travel to project sites as needed with potential for overnight, company-paid travel.
