About The Position

The Lucy Brock Child Development Lab is a full-day North Carolina-licensed university lab program that serves approximately 46 children from birth through five years of age. At Lucy Brock, we are dedicated to co-constructing connections in the field of early care and education. As a university program, we serve children, their families, and pre-service teachers while working collaboratively with faculty and staff from the Reich College of Education. We are committed to providing a space that recognizes and implements best practices using an inquiry-based curriculum where research informs teaching and learning for young children. The Teacher Assistant supports lead teachers in a Reggio Emilia-inspired learning environment, fostering curiosity, creativity, and collaboration among children. This role focuses on co-constructing learning experiences with children, supporting inquiry-based projects, and cultivating a sense of community among students, families, and staff.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school
  • One year of related childcare experience
  • Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in child development or related field
  • Experience working in a childcare setting
