About The Position

This is a full-time Early Care and Education Specialist position, with a preference for bilingual candidates in English/Russian/Spanish. The role is based at the Central Office in Sacramento, CA. The specialist will work 8.0 hours per day, Monday through Friday. There are two levels for this position: ECE Specialist I and ECE Specialist II, each with a different pay range and specific requirements for education and experience. Both levels offer a bi-lingual incentive. The position requires specific certifications, clearances, and a valid driver's license with a clean record.

Requirements

  • ECE Specialist I: Must have at least 12 ECE/CD units including core courses.
  • ECE Specialist I: Possession of Child Development Associate Teacher or higher Permit Required.
  • ECE Specialist II: Minimum requirement AA/AS degree in ECE /CD/ HD or 24 ECE/CD /HD units including core courses plus 16 GE units plus 6 specialization units plus 2 adult supervision units.
  • ECE Specialist II: Possession of current Child Development Teacher Permit or higher Required.
  • ECE Specialist I: One (1) year as a teacher in a program for children in a licensed center or family child care home.
  • ECE Specialist II: Minimum of two years’ experience working as a Teacher in a licensed child care center or family child care home.
  • ECE Specialist II: At least two years’ experience in completing Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP).
  • Current CPR & First Aid certification.
  • Current Health & Safety in Child Care Setting course.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Fingerprint and criminal clearances required.
  • Must have a Clean Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Must have a valid CA Driver License.
  • Must have a Registered and Insured Vehicle.
  • Pre-employment physical required.
  • TB clearance required.
  • Current measles and pertussis vaccines required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual – English/Russian/Spanish (Preferred)
  • 24 ECE/CD/HD units including core courses preferred (for ECE Specialist I).
  • Knowledge of DRDP preferred (for ECE Specialist I).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an Early Care and Education Specialist.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in child care settings.
