About The Position

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an EA-18G Structures Mechanic located at Whidbey Island, WA. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with modification and/or sustainment pertaining to military aircraft
  • Experience with composite and metal structures
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with sheet metal assemblies, drilling, countersinking, riveting, and fastener installation
  • Minimum of 3 years' using schematics, blueprints, sketches, manuals, technical documents, written information, verbal information, applicable procedures, codes and ordinances
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for Security Clearance
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with F/A-18 and/or EA-18G platform
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License
  • Experience with composite repair and paint
  • Experience in fabrication of aircraft parts
  • Working knowledge of technical data/SRM’s
  • Ability to research technical data/SRM’s and determine repairs
  • Critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

  • Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
  • Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
  • Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
  • Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
  • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
  • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
  • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
  • Oversees training.
  • Works under general direction.
  • Perform hands-on tasks including: Drilling, reaming, riveting, burring, fitting
  • Align and fit structural parts using jigs, fixtures, and templates
  • Measure and verify part dimensions using scales, calipers and micrometers
  • Perform efforts associated with sealing, painting and shimming
