About The Position

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for an E2E Engineering Technician - CNC to join our team in Warsaw, IN. Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience is required
  • Ability to maintain a project timeline

  • Knowledge of CNC NX and NX CAM using DMG Machines (single and dual path controllers) NTX1000, NL, ZL, NLX2500, NTX 3200, NTX2000
  • Experience working in the medical device industry and familiar with regulations.
  • Ability to stand at controller and machines for long periods of time to debug issues.
  • Use provided macro programming in part families.

Responsibilities

  • Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position: Coordinates basic CNC process development activities to effect high quality processes throughout the division.
  • Provides reviews and feedback for improvements in manufacturability.
  • Maintains equipment, materials, and process performance requirements; performs vendor and equipment searches to ensure adequate capability to produce quality products in required quantities at effective costs.
  • Coordinates design of experiments and capability studies, documents process specifications, and procures process tools.
  • Assists in the evaluation and selection of suitable equipment for optimized, balanced line performance.
  • Supports new processes and equipment analysis.
  • Develops process documentation and maintains training material on processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Support attainment of key business metrics through the provision of engineering support for value stream processes.
  • Support elimination of safety and quality risks in the process through implementation of robust engineering solutions.
  • Actively promotes a safety culture.
  • Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to next management level.
  • This role provides engineering support for manufacturing operations based within the value streams.
  • The role requires technical ownership to be taken for manufacturing CNC processes, products, and equipment, while maintaining a focus on key business drivers, which include EH&S, Quality, Supply and Cost.
  • Additionally, this role provides technical engineering and CNC control support.
  • Plans and conducts activities related to the development of new processes including researching current and emerging technologies, evaluating process cost, quality, and capability alternatives, and performing process characterization and optimization using designed experiments, and problem solving and decision-making tools.
  • As process owner, this role will involve collaborating with a number of functional groups delivering value stream projects, such as Process Engineering, as well as with suppliers and other sites within the engineering, science, and network that run similar processes.
  • This position will foster opportunities, strong leadership, work ethic, and Credo-based behaviors.
  • Utilizes broad CNC process development expertise to help devise practical solutions to tasks that are typically not routine.
  • Keeps high standards of professionalism, efficiency, personal communication, discretion, and independent judgment for all end solutions.
  • Helps coordinate the technical implementation, modification, and ongoing monitoring of CNC programming for production of medical devices.
  • Provides support for key strategy sessions with Manufacturing Engineers to help develop Repair and Maintenance schematics for the rollout of new and improved repair and maintenance processes, tools and equipment.
