About The Position

The World Bank Group (WBG) is a unique global partnership of five institutions driven by a bold vision to create a world free of poverty on a livable planet. As one of the largest sources of funding and knowledge for developing countries, the WBG helps solve the world’s greatest development challenges. The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) is the world's largest multilateral climate fund, with $13.5 billion channeled through six Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) to 78 countries. CIF financing catalyzes climate action in developing and middle-income countries by funding transformational projects that reduce emissions, build resilience, and accelerate the transition to clean energy and sustainable development. CIF operates through a unique partnership model that brings together governments, MDBs, the private sector, and civil society. The CIF Secretariat, hosted by The World Bank, supports the work of the CIF governing bodies, including strategy and policy development as well as reporting; manages internal and external institutional relations as well as strategic partnerships; supports program development; delivers a large program of thought leadership, knowledge and learning work; is responsible for portfolio risk management and new private sector capital mobilization modalities and initiatives. The CIF Evaluation and Learning (E&L) Initiative supports this work through a range of strategic and demand-driven evaluations covering some of the most important and pressing challenges facing climate finance funders and practitioners. The E&L Initiative uses evaluation to enable learning that is relevant, timely and used to inform decisions and strategies, for both the CIF and the wider climate finance sector.
