About The Position

Arch’s internship program offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in the insurance industry. It provides challenging learning experiences that serve as a foundation for interns to explore their career choices and to develop professional skills. Working alongside some of the most talented members of the specialty insurance industry, interns will gain relevant expertise in various aspects of the field, participate in learning activities and receive ongoing feedback.

Requirements

  • Actively completing area of study in Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Economics, or relevant program.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • College level - current Junior or Senior student, with graduation dates ranging from December 2027 - May 2028.
  • Strong proficiency in understanding financial statements.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Strong analytical skillset, with a keen ability to think through issues
  • Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner.
  • Team player who collaborates effectively.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and support the underwriting of primary and excess casualty business from wholesale broker sources.
  • Assist in the assessment of medium to large commercial corporations in both primary and excess casualty lines.
  • Contribute to projects which may include analyzing segment data, underwriter workflows, individual accounts, and broker engagement.
  • Review and analyze production activities conducted by underwriters.
  • Complete a summer-long capstone project relevant to the insurance industry.
