About The Position

Under limited supervision and with readily available technical guidance, perform intermediate troubleshooting, repair and maintenance work on electronic control equipment and apparatus such as automated machine tool controls, servo-mechanisms, etc., of standard design where a basic knowledge of electro-mechanical principles, plus specialized skills and techniques, are required to diagnose and repair malfunctions.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, and a minimum of 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PLC troubleshooting skills
  • CNC mechanical knowledge, i.e. ball screws, linear bearings, X, Y, and Z axis, Tool changers, and Tooling
  • Troubleshoot AC & DC systems
  • Servo motor skills - troubleshoot
  • Mechanical skills, align motors, change bearings, Auto grease units, Welding
  • Read Electrical and Mechanical draws
  • Knowledge with Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Facilities management software — Computerized maintenance management system CMMS knowledge.
  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Industrial control software — Human machine interface HMI software; Programmable logic controller PLC software; Rockwell RSView; Supervisory control and data acquisition SCADA software
  • Must maintain certification in powered industrial vehicles, including Forklift.
  • Training in OSHA regulations, including Lock-out/Tag-out required.
  • Completion of OSHA 10-hour course.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Inspects and tests equipment to locate damage or worn parts and diagnose malfunctions, or read work orders or schematic drawings to determine required repairs.
  • Reassembles repaired electric motors to specified requirements and ratings, using hand tools and electrical meters.
  • Troubleshoots and determining causes of operating errors. Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Repairs machines or systems and determines what kind of tools and equipment needed to do the job.
  • Modify, maintain, or repair electronics equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Replace defective components or parts, using hand tools and precision instruments.
  • Set up and operate specialized or standard test equipment to diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of electronic components, assemblies, or systems.
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts
  • Work well with other employees and maintains a positive attitude. Conducts needs assessment, meets qualify standards for service and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Adheres to all OSHA and company policies and procedures, including Authorized LOTO procedures. Recognizes and reports unsafe work areas or conditions when discovered. Lead by example when working safe.
  • Communicate with manager, and other Maintenance team members, to assure operating condition of equipment.
  • Performs routine housekeeping activities in the department, and the shop.
  • Performs assigned daily tasks, completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Federal, State, and local standards and regulations.
  • Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding safety and standards of workplace behavior, in completing job duties and assignments
