About The Position

C&W Services is seeking an Industrial Electrical Technician to join their team. This role involves maintaining and repairing electrical components and equipment in industrial facilities. The position is based in Dayton, OH, with a work schedule of Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM. Requirements

  • Working knowledge and proficiency with installing, repairing and maintaining industrial electrical components and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of lighting, electrical protective devices, motors, inverters, soft starts, wye-delta systems along with hard wired and ethernet based control.
  • Working knowledge of schematics, mathematics, preventive/predictive technologies, basic computer literacy, safe electrical test and measurement best practices.
  • Awareness and ability to perform calibration and documentation of functions pertaining to flow measurement, level measurement, pressure, temperature, analytical instrumentation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot process control loops – using key elements and specialized testing equipment.
  • Awareness and ability to perform functions pertaining to terminating motor starters, control & power wires.
  • Ability to cut, thread, bend and install raceway (conduit) and cable trays in an industrial setting.
  • Awareness and ability to follow standards laid out by NECA 101.
  • Ability to obtain State Journeyman Electrical License upon meeting state required qualifications.
  • Ability to obtain ISA’s CCST Level 1 Certification.
  • 1-2 years of electrical experience and/or 1-2 years of education in Electronics or Industrial Electricity preferred.
  • Ability to observe details at close range.
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • Ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required.
  • Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time.
  • Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
  • Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules.
  • Must maintain positive customer and employee relations.

Nice To Haves

  • Electronics or Industrial Electricity preferred, but not required.
  • 1-2 years of electrical experience and/or 1-2 years of education in Electronics or Industrial Electricity preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment, adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Use hand tools and power tools daily.
  • Work all shifts, including holidays and weekends, as required by the job.
  • Work from elevated areas using fall protection equipment when needed.
  • Adhere to the published work schedule and be flexible with hours based on workload.
  • Maintain compliance with all company and customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Utilize industrial powered vehicles (RTFL, Forklift, Aerial Lift, Scissor Lift).
  • Install, repair, and maintain industrial electrical components and equipment, including lighting, electrical protective devices, motors, inverters, soft starts, wye-delta systems, and hard-wired/ethernet-based controls.
  • Work with schematics, mathematics, preventive/predictive technologies, and basic computer literacy.
  • Perform calibration and documentation for flow measurement, level measurement, pressure, temperature, and analytical instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot process control loops using specialized testing equipment.
  • Terminate motor starters, control, and power wires.
  • Cut, thread, bend, and install raceway (conduit) and cable trays.
  • Install wire through raceway and cable trays.
  • Follow standards laid out by NECA 101.
  • Achieve performance expectations and participate in employee development planning.
  • Communicate with team members to assist in short- and long-range planning.
  • Maintain personal tools and provide an up-to-date documented personal tool list.
  • Meet physical requirements of the job.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Complete accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
