About The Position

Primary Role: Applies electrical theory, instrumentation principles, robotics, PLCs, and electrical code to install, repair, calibrate, troubleshoot, and modify electrical, robotic, and automated control systems. Secondary Role: Responsible for the set-up, adjustment, maintenance, and repair of automated, robotic, and electro-mechanical machinery used throughout the production facility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with five (5) years industrial electrical and automation experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of motors, PLCs, industrial robotics (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Motoman, or similar), sensors, conveyors, and automated equipment.
  • Ability to use hand and trade-type tools safely; strong attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to use standard electrical test and calibration tools (e.g., DMM, loop calibrator) and maintain good hand-eye coordination.
  • Proven record of ability to handle equipment safely and sensibly.
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to make accurate measurements and sensitive adjustments to instruments and controls.
  • Must be team-oriented with the ability to work with others and without direct supervision.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to adjust schedule to provide specialized electrical support through all shifts.

  • Food manufacturing or regulated industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adjust functional parts of machine devices, robotic cells, and control instruments including changeover and running adjustments
  • Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs industrial, electrical, instrumentational, and robotic systems.
  • Diagnosing and recovering robotic systems including EOAT, safety circuits, vision systems, and peripheral equipment.
  • PLC installation, basic programming, and troubleshooting of automated process systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, robotic layouts, and P&IDs.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot variable frequency drives (VFDs), soft starters, and motor control center (MCC) components.
  • Calibrate, loop-check, verify, and document process instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow, level, etc.) to ensure signal integrity from field device to PLC/HMI.
  • Provide technical electrical, instrumentation, and robotics expertise for plant operations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance using eMaint/CMMS and document all work performed.
  • Inspect equipment to detect wear, misalignment, failures, or process deviations.
  • Remove and replace worn or defective electrical, robotic, and mechanical components.
  • Train operators and technicians on safe operation of robotic and automated systems.
  • Follow all GMPs, SOPs, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
