Additional information about the company can be found online at www.bwpipelines.com. We are currently looking for an E&I Specialist/ Sr E&I Specialist for our West Monroe, LA office. POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic, electrical, and pneumatic equipment and control systems in assigned area, likely to provide support in adjacent areas, along with project support. The role also supports compression facility operations, including operating compressors and auxiliary equipment, assisting with mechanical repairs, and maintaining pipeline valve and flow control systems. The position participates in an on-call rotation, supports other facilities as needed, and is responsible for recognizing and reporting abnormal or unsafe operating conditions, accident and near-miss reporting, and emergency response. Key responsibilities include safely installing instrumentation and electrical components; troubleshooting and maintaining control systems, instrumentation, and electrical power systems up to 4,160 volts; and supporting gas reciprocating, electric drive, and turbine engines, compressors, generators, and auxiliary equipment. Duties also include running conduit, pulling wire, changing motors, maintaining lighting and basic motor controls, and performing basic PLC maintenance and troubleshooting. The position maintains advanced monitoring devices such as gas and fire detection systems and vibration, temperature, pressure, and flow monitoring equipment. Responsibilities also include installing and maintaining end devices, alarms, shutdown systems, process controls, air/fuel controllers, and panel boards; interpreting P&IDs, electrical diagrams, and complex electrical drawings; and performing preventive and general maintenance on electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Additional duties include maintaining brine pumps, dehydration facilities, hot oil systems, measurement and metering equipment, over-pressure protection systems, and providing training and technical support. This position's primary area of responsibility will be at our Vixen Compressor Station and the successful candidate will be required to reside within 30 miles of the Vixen Compressor Station to respond to call outs expediently.

Requirements

  • Instrument and Electrical maintenance experience
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability for prioritizing and scheduling multiple projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft programs.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow Company procedures and manufacturers guidelines.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet to transfer tools and equipment.
  • Ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns.
  • Ability to work alone as required in extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments.
  • Valid Driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to operate an all-terrain vehicle.
  • Strong commitment to personal and Team safety.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • 4 (plus) years of natural gas operations and maintenance experience
  • More than 3 years of experience on pipeline operating systems and DOT 192 knowledge
  • Associate Degree or Certificate of Completion in Electrical or Electronics Technology from an Institution Accredited by one of the National Regional Accrediting Bodies
  • Technical School/College education
