Construction Coordinators are responsible for accurately reporting and verifying project progress and minimizing obstructions to efficient work. They act as a liaison between Contractors and field engineering, quality, AWP (Advanced Work Packaging), and turnover functions. This role involves coordinating and monitoring contractor activities, ensuring compliance with project safety, quality, schedule, cost, and security requirements. The coordinator evaluates change requests, interfaces with contract administrators, and provides technical interpretation of design documents to support construction managers and contractors. They also coordinate the work of field engineers and technicians, liaise with AWP/WFP (Workface Planning) to confirm material delivery status, and validate material take-offs and equipment forecasts. Safety is paramount, and the coordinator must remain knowledgeable of and adhere to safety policies and procedures, ensuring their own safety and that of others. They coordinate the completion of construction activities, assist with punch lists for system readiness, and monitor the preparation of travel and work packages. The role involves monitoring and inspecting construction operations for compliance with design documents, gathering information for field construction problems, and providing input for resolution. Adherence to AWP practices and facilitating data transfer to the AWP group are also key. Effective communication between construction and AWP, field engineering, quality, and turnover is essential for the timely flow of design documents and information. The coordinator maintains liaison with technical and construction support departments, confirms current AFC (Approved For Construction) project design documents are received by construction, and assists contractors with drawing-related issues. They may coordinate the project quality program and play an active role in developing the project's safety culture. Input is provided for the Project Completion Report, and support is given to Project Controls for quantity reporting and verification, as well as auditing contractor progress payment requests. The role may also involve preparing scope for change orders, extra work orders, or back charge notices for subcontract work. Other duties as assigned.
