About The Position

CACI is seeking an Entry level IT Data Specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to launch or advance a career in Information Technology while supporting the Federal Government on large and complex litigation support matters. In this role, you will work within the District's Litigation Support Unit, supporting electronic discovery (eDiscovery) operations by modifying and manipulating electronic files for use with Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products and litigation support applications, including NUIX, LAW, Eclipse, Everlaw, Relativity, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, USAfx, Evidence.com, and Camtasia Studio.

Requirements

  • Performing file manipulation, loading, conversion services, data:base indexing, and quality assurance checks.
  • Creating and modifying files for upload into COTS products and litigation support applications.
  • Receiving, processing, scanning, importing, OCRing, and converting electronic evidence, including email, native files, digital images, and multimedia files.
  • Converting audio and video files into production and trial-ready formats.
  • Ensuring incoming productions comply with applicable ESI specifications and documenting deficiencies for prosecutors and legal support staff.
  • Assisting with discovery intake tracking, Discovery Logs, Discovery Productions, database loading, retrieval, and electronic file processing.
  • Exporting data from contractor and DOJ databases while validating redactions, metadata, and production specifications.
  • Performing quality assurance on all electronic file processing activities, database loads, exports, and deliverables.
  • Supporting electronic discovery workflows using applications such as Relativity, NUIX, LAW, Everlaw, Eclipse, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to obtain a DOJ MBI (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • Knowledge of the litigation discovery process and the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) workflow.
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, personal computers, document review software, and encryption methods.
  • Experience with LAW, IPRO, Relativity, or other document processing platforms.
  • At least two (2) years of experience performing eDiscovery functions, including: Electronic file processing (EFP), Image and data file conversion, Database loading and retrieval, Data culling using review tools, Quality assurance, Data analysis.
  • Knowledge of Government IT environments, including office automation networks, PC and server-based applications.
  • Coursework or experience in programming/scripting (PERL, Python, PowerShell, etc.), systems administration, or database management.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to perform quality control analysis and identify data integrity issues.
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately process large volumes of electronic data.
  • Customer-focused, professional demeanor when supporting government clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Prior experience supporting eDiscovery projects with complex litigation support workflows.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ICONECT, Relativity, Microsoft Office Suite, Concordance, and West LiveNote is highly desirable.
  • Undergraduate degree preferred, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management, or a related technical field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all phases of electronic discovery, including receiving, processing, converting, loading, indexing, exporting, and quality checking electronic data.
  • Ensure incoming case materials comply with applicable Electronic Stored Information (ESI) specifications, identifying and documenting deficiencies.
  • Prepare productions that meet DOJ and client requirements.
  • Support discovery tracking, database maintenance, and litigation workflows.
  • Process email, native files, digital images, audio/video files, and load-ready data while learning industry best practices aligned with the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
  • Expand technical skills, including scripting (PERL, Python, etc.) and advanced eDiscovery technologies, through on-the-job training.
