About The Position

This position assists in the daily operation of E-Commerce customer order fulfillment. The role involves performing warehouse work including receiving, storing, and shipping merchandise. Tasks are often repetitive and include unloading, stacking, binning, rotating, and marking stock according to standardized procedures. The worker will verify shipping documents, potentially use automated identification equipment (bar code wands, computer terminals, laser scanners), and operate common hand tools and material handling equipment like hand trucks, pallet jacks, and electric lifts. Responsibilities also include assisting in inventory taking, packing and preparing customer orders according to carrier standards, and making orders available for pickup. Housekeeping duties such as cleaning are also part of the role, along with minor maintenance and miscellaneous tasks to ensure the facility is safe and sanitary. Customer service is also a component, requiring interaction with customers, maintaining product knowledge, responding to concerns, and communicating product availability. Compliance with safety standards, emergency preparedness, and loss prevention policies is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of overall warehousing plan and accepted warehousing methods, procedures, and techniques of material handling.
  • Ability to operate mechanized equipment including utility vehicles, forklifts, mobile stock selectors, and automated equipment such as, optical readers, scanners and computer keyboards.
  • Ability to process and independently complete shipping and receiving documents to insure correctness of quantities, identification criteria, and labeling.
  • Ability to frequently stand, stoop, bend, lift and carry supplies, materials and equipment weighing up to 45 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the daily operation of E-Commerce customer order fulfillment.
  • Performs warehouse work involving receiving, storing, and shipping merchandise.
  • Unloads, stacks, bins, rotates, and marks stock in accordance with standardized operating instructions.
  • Verifies incoming and outgoing shipping documents.
  • May use automated material identification equipment such as bar code, wands, computer terminals, and laser scanners.
  • Uses common hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and pliers as well as hand trucks, hand lifts, pallet jacks, dollies, and electric lifts.
  • Assists in the taking of inventories at required intervals.
  • Assists in packing and final preparation of customer orders, including packing list and labels per carrier standards and processing of freight charges.
  • Makes packed orders available for daily pick up by logistics carrier.
  • Performs housekeeping tasks such as cleaning floors, fixtures, etc., as needed in the areas assigned.
  • Performs minor maintenance and miscellaneous duties to ensure the facility is maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner.
  • Welcomes customers and maintain product knowledge.
  • Reacts to all concerns of customers quickly.
  • Communicates information regarding product availability.
  • Upholds predefined customer services standards.
  • Complies with established safety standards, emergency preparedness requirements and all policies regarding loss prevention and is proactive regarding shrink.
