About The Position

Responsible for all duties as assigned by the ECommerce Manager including examining products for value/condition/functionality, taking clear photographs, preparing written product descriptions, assisting customers, understanding auction inventory processes, and preparing goods for shipment. This role involves product knowledge, packaging, intake processing, photography, and jewelry processing. Additionally, the position requires providing excellent customer service by ensuring listing accuracy and clarity to minimize customer inquiries, and supporting the customer service team as needed. The E-Commerce Specialist must maintain and monitor productivity, meet or exceed established goals, work efficiently and organized, and support team members. Safety is paramount, requiring adherence to all established safety rules, timely reporting of accidents and hazards, and maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area. The role also involves utilizing proper equipment and supplies, maintaining workstation supplies, and completing daily clean-up routines. A strong regard for Goodwill’s assets is expected.

Requirements

  • A combination of education and relevant work experience that aligns with the duties of this position.
  • Proficient with PCs, including email, Microsoft applications, and internet use.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently in fast-paced environment.
  • Strong English writing skills, including grammar and punctuation, to list merchandise for auction.
  • Comfortable staging merchandise and using digital devices or smart phone for photography.
  • Basic math and communication skills.
  • Able to coordinate and work courteously as a team member to achieve group and department goals.
  • Exhibit a friendly demeanor and cooperatively interact with diverse co-workers and customers.
  • Able to stand or sit for long periods, plus bend, lift, and reach often throughout a shift.
  • Understand and follow established safety rules.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of collectibles, antiques, thrifting, and/or collecting strongly preferred.
  • Preference given for experience researching merchandise online using web browser and eBay.

Responsibilities

  • Examine products for value, condition, and functionality.
  • Take clear photographs of products.
  • Prepare written product descriptions, proofreading for accuracy, spelling, and grammar.
  • Post auctions to online platforms including shopgoodwill.com, eBay, and others.
  • Process and pick customer orders.
  • Securely pack merchandise for handling and delivery, correctly weighing and labeling packages.
  • Evaluate and research incoming goods using internet and other resources.
  • Create listing tickets in software app.
  • Prepare items for photography/listing.
  • Inspect and photograph items for online sale, capturing measurements, damage, and features.
  • Sort and evaluate mixed jewelry for sales potential and value.
  • Create saleable jewelry lots.
  • Test and identify gemstones and precious metals.
  • Provide detailed summaries for listers.
  • Photograph jewelry auctions.
  • Provide listing accuracy and clarity to minimize customer service inquiries.
  • Support customer service designee with responses, arranging returns, or issuing refunds.
  • Maintain and monitor productivity in any role assigned, meeting or exceeding established goals.
  • Work efficiently while always organized/prepared for assigned role and supporting team members.
  • May be required to move inventory using pallet jack to aid in keeping inventory organized.
  • Consistently follow established safety rules.
  • Report safety accidents and hazards in a timely manner.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and orderly work areas.
  • Utilize proper equipment and supplies in meeting the safety standards.
  • Maintain workstation supplies.
  • Complete workstation 5-minute clean up daily.
  • Demonstrate regard for Goodwill’s assets including property and equipment.
