About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana, Inc. is looking for a Shipper for our E-Commerce Department in Fort Wayne Indiana. This is a fast-paced position with an eco-friendly organization. Our mission is to empower and prepare people for independence through training, person growth and work. Our E-commerce department supports our mission by collecting and selling goods that have generously been donated by our community. The Shipper position is very important to the success of our organization, ensuring customers receive their purchases securely packed and delivered. The role involves shipping a variety of items daily, requiring strong attention to detail, the ability to select appropriate shipping materials and use correct packing methods, accurately weigh and measure items, complete paperwork, and use computerized shipping software. The ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects is also required. Requirements

Computer proficiency.
Previous computer experience required.
Ability to demonstrate good judgment.
Must have strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to complete necessary paperwork.
Subject to background check
Ability to work within the team concept.
Subject to random alcohol and drug testing as specified in the Drug Free Workplace Program.
Must be well-groomed and personable.
Must be bondable.
Must have dependable transportation.

Contact with customers, donors, and co-workers.

Responsibilities

Run daily “To Be Shipped” Report
Confirm items to be shipped match the shipping report descriptions and item number.
Identify shipping carrier chosen and select appropriate size box, to ensure a safe delivery.
Pack items using proper packing techniques and using appropriate bubble wrap / packing peanuts.
Weigh completed package and note on the package.
Run shipping labels using appropriate carrier software and attach labels to packages
Complete end of the day shipping report.
Follows all safety rules and practices.
Performs all other duties as may be assigned by the E-Commerce Supervisor in the process of carrying out the mission of Goodwill Industries.
Maintain adequate shipping supplies
Maintain clean and organized shipping area.
Promote a team environment by helping when and where needed, during any down time.
Attends Department meetings.
Maintain a positive work outlook and project a pleasant, courteous, and helpful demeanor at all times when dealing with customers, donors, co-workers, and clients.
