About The Position

The E-commerce Driver is the final step in delivering a seamless Aisles Online experience and represents Hy-Vee at customers’ homes. The role ensures orders arrive safely and on time while providing friendly, professional customer service. Duties include organizing, selecting, scanning, bagging, and loading online orders; preserving proper product temperatures; delivering orders; handling payments; and maintaining delivery vehicles. The position may also involve order substitutions, age verification for alcohol purchases, and other assigned tasks. The role is active and on the go, with frequent vehicle entry and exit and travel over stairs and uneven terrain. Training is provided to support a safe work environment. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with no DOT restrictions.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to provide professional customer service and communicate clearly with customers in person and over the phone.
• Ability to stay organized, manage multiple priorities, and work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to identify problems and find practical solutions.
• Ability to navigate routes efficiently and adapt to varying delivery conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service and make customer interactions positive.
• Organize, gather, and load online orders while maintaining proper product temperatures.
• Deliver products safely, on time, and efficiently while following traffic laws and customer delivery requests.
• Verify customer age and gather required information for orders containing alcohol.
• Collect payments, make change, and return payments and beginning cash to the store as needed.
• Select, scan, and bag items from all temperature zones and process customer orders through the POS system as needed.
• Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of delivery vehicles, inside and out.
• Substitute products upon customer request or when items are unavailable.
• Follow Hy-Vee dress code, hygiene standards, and company policies.
• Assist with other tasks and special projects as needed.
