About The Position

This position is responsible for acquiring items, writing descriptions, taking photos, uploading pictures to computer and the ShopGoodwill/E-Books online web site, answering customer questions, providing customer service, and tracking online merchandise. The role also involves record-keeping and maintaining applicable paperwork, as well as maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area. The applicant must pass a background check.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness and ability to adhere to Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest directives, rules, policies, procedures, and departmental and organizational standards.
  • Working knowledge of Amazon, EBay, and other Auction Web-sites.
  • Computer experience.
  • Photography experience.
  • Ability to learn jewelry testing equipment such as the sonic cleaner, Gem Oro and gold testing equipment.
  • Must pass background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of precious metals, gem stones, and synthetics.
  • Must recognize brand stamps (i.e. high end, vintage and trendy).

Responsibilities

  • Acquire items for online sale.
  • Write descriptions for online merchandise.
  • Take photos of items for online listings.
  • Upload pictures and descriptions to online platforms such as ShopGoodwill and E-Books.
  • Answer customer questions and address customer complaints.
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Track online merchandise and packages.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Adhere to Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest directives, rules, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Scan donated books for online listing.
  • Maintain knowledge of software used for E-Books processing.
  • Have working knowledge of Amazon, EBay, and other Auction Web-sites.
  • Shelve books, audio media, and DVDs.
  • Track packages through shipping systems.
  • Communicate customer issues with Management.
  • Identify precious metals, gemstones, and synthetics.
  • Recognize brand stamps on jewelry.
  • Learn to use jewelry testing equipment.
  • Use Picasa to upload images and gather information on items.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of antiques and salable merchandise.
  • Produce accurate and succinct descriptions of items for auction sites.
  • Return store merchandise not accepted for sale.
  • Shelve listed items and pull sold items.
  • Work collaboratively with Workforce and Family Services.
  • Properly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain agency confidentiality.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and fire standards and all local, state, and federal regulations (WISHA & OSHA).
