About The Position

WECTEC Staffing Services, a subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, is seeking an E&C Engineer with strong project management capabilities to support their client's Energy Supply Projects team. This is a 1-year contract hybrid role where the individual will function primarily as a Project Engineer/Project Manager. The role involves supporting capital improvement projects across energy generating facilities in Colorado, playing a critical role in maintaining and improving the reliability of power generation assets by managing a portfolio of capital projects from concept through execution. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of an engineering background and strong project management skills. The position reports to the manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related engineering discipline).
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering, project engineering, or project management experience.
  • Experience managing projects from initiation through completion.
  • Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, utility, energy, plant, or similar operational environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple capital projects across power generation facilities from initiation through completion.
  • Oversee emergent capital projects while supporting larger base and major capital initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Reliability Engineering, Maintenance, and Plant Leadership to identify project opportunities and reliability improvements.
  • Develop project scopes, technical specifications, budgets, schedules, and justification documents.
  • Coordinate project planning, execution, and closeout activities.
  • Manage contractors, vendors, consultants, and equipment suppliers.
  • Support procurement activities, including obtaining quotes, bidding, and vendor selection.
  • Coordinate equipment deliveries, material management, and installation activities.
  • Monitor project budgets and schedules to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Attend daily plant planning meetings and collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize critical work.
  • Utilize existing plant drawings and documentation through ProjectWise and related systems.
  • Ensure safe and efficient project execution in an operating power plant environment.
