About The Position

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking customer-oriented, motivated individuals to join their professional team as a DZ Driver. This role involves delivering and picking up a diverse fleet of construction equipment to and from customer jobsites, maintaining accurate records, performing vehicle inspections, and providing basic operational instructions to customers. Requirements

Currently residing in Canada and legally entitled to work.
Valid Class DZ driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract and commercial driving record (no more than three demerit points).
Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of heavy-duty construction equipment on open-deck trucks is required.
Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions.
Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
Highly safety-focused and professional; take pride in your vehicle and your responsibility as a driver.
Available and willing to work overtime when required and on an on-call rotation if required.
Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.
Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.

Responsibilities

Deliver and pick up a diverse fleet of construction equipment to and from customer jobsites. Equipment fleet includes (but is not limited to) aerial, earth moving and compaction equipment.
Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company safe work procedures and inspect in transit if necessary.
Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
Perform vehicle inspections daily, as well as checking gas, oil and other fluid levels.
Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed. Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.
Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.
Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified. If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get customer’s signature.
Turn in these forms to Branch Manager, along with pick up sheets.
Tag and move broken equipment to repair area.
Provide basic instruction to customers on the safe operation of equipment.
Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.
Complete daily accurate pre-inspections and post-inspections regulatory logs and timesheets.
