About The Position

The DZ Driver/Picker at Miller Waste Systems is responsible for the safe, timely collection of residential waste streams, including yard waste, recycling, and garbage. This role ensures proper waste disposal in compliance with safety, environmental, and municipal regulations while delivering courteous and reliable service to the community. Requirements

Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act.
Must have a valid DZ Driver's Licence.
Must be a team player, and with safe working habits.
Clean Drivers Abstract & CVOR.

Responsibilities

Responsible for various waste stream residential collections, including Yard Waste, Blue Box, Green Bin collection and/or garbage collection.
Provide customers with reliable and high-quality customer service.
Collect various waste streams to be delivered to local Transfer stations, Compost Facilities or landfill sites in an efficient and appropriate manner.
Adhere to the collection and delivery schedule while following all relevant policies and procedures of the Company, the MTO, Ministry of Environment as well as the by-laws of the Municipality in which you are working.
Deal with fellow employees, management, residents and members of the public in a polite and respectful manner at all times.
Place all waste receptacles that are emptied into the collection vehicle back on the resident’s property, flipped upside down at the curb, in the same place that they were removed from.
Lift garbage bags or cans weighing up to 50 lbs. from the ground up approximately 2 feet into the hopper.
Make in excess of 800-1200 residential stops per day.
