About The Position

This is a grant-funded position for the 26-27 School Year, analyzed and reviewed annually based on student data and budgetary needs. The Dyslexia Interventionist is responsible for providing high-quality, customized intervention to RTI Tier 3 students identified with characteristics associated with dyslexia (45 minutes daily) and other at-risk students identified by the Universal Dyslexia Screener (30 minutes daily). Intervention will be provided in small groups daily using the district-identified dyslexia program. Individual student assessment will be conducted according to program and/or district guidelines. Training will be coordinated through the Parker Center, with support for planning, data analysis, and instructional implementation provided by the Intervention/Dyslexia Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Meet Arkansas elementary or secondary teaching licensure requirements.
  • Minimum three years classroom teaching experience.
  • Coursework or professional development in the area of literacy/dyslexia.
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities.
  • Willingness to attend applicable training, some of which may occur during the summer or off contract hours.
  • Out of state applicants must provide Arkansas Department of Education's verification of provisional licensure eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality, customized intervention to RTI Tier 3 students exhibiting characteristics associated with dyslexia (45 minutes daily).
  • Serve other at-risk students identified by the Universal Dyslexia Screener (30 minutes daily).
  • Provide small group intervention daily using the district-identified dyslexia program.
  • Conduct individual student assessment according to dyslexia program and/or district guidelines.
  • Participate in grade-level collaboration and planning as part of PLCs.
  • Participate in school committees.
  • Follow TESS rubric “proficient” level expectations.
  • Supervise students during recess, bus duty, before and after school duty, field trips, extracurricular events, and in out-of-classroom activities.
  • Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain positive professional working relationships.
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Full contract for this position is 190 days.
  • Benefits as specified in employee contract.
