Northrop Grumman Advanced Weapon Systems has an opening for a Dynamics-Structural Analyst -(Level 3 or 4) to join our Loads and Environments / Structural Analysis team. This position will be at our AW (Advanced Weapon) Division facility located in Northridge, CA. This is an on-site role and there is no remote work. The selected candidate will work in a team environment with other engineering organizations performing detailed technical reviews of drawings, specifications and manufacturing plans. You will be responsible for analyzing, researching, and developing materials and their related application processes for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems, and will also apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material science to investigate material issues and provide solutions. The elected candidate will join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience; or a master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with a minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience (for Level 3)
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience; or a master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with a minimum of 6 years of relevant engineering experience (for Level 4)
  • Proactive, strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management, organization, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to clearly present technical information to all organizational levels
  • It can work independently to represent the business unit
  • Familiar with PDR/CDR
  • Secret Clearance required
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Nice To Haves

  • Project and/or Systems Engineering skills are a plus (for Level 4)

Responsibilities

  • Support the analysis needs of defense programs.
  • Support in the development of structural loads.
  • Development of dynamic environments including shock, random vibration, sine vibration, and acoustic environments.
  • Support testing efforts of functional components to dynamic environments.
  • Develop data analysis to ensure qualification of flight hardware.
  • Response to perform structural analysis task at needed base.
