About The Position

This position is Sunday - Thursday 11pm -7am. The objective is to ensure the CDR is running properly.

Requirements

  • Must be able to bend, sit, walk or stand intermittently for at least an 8 hour shift.
  • Must be able to work in temperatures that range from 50 degrees to 100 degrees.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, use air/water hoses, pick up garbage bags, work in wet and dusty environment and work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to climb stairs several times per 8 hour shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds of carpet occasionally throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to climb into the machines for cleaning and repairing equipment.
  • Must be able to recognize letters and numbers.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English.
  • Must have hand and finger dexterity to enter data into computers.
  • Must have basic math skills: multiplication, fractions, division, addition and subtraction.
  • Must be able to read charts and graphs.
  • Must be able to use a computer and keyboard to effectively use formula control.
  • Must complete all OSHA, SAFE and Plant Specific Safety Training.
  • Must pass all job specific training tasks and tests.
  • Attend and pass additional training classes as needed.
  • Must complete all Ethics modules assigned by Corporate.
  • Must understand the operation of the Tufting and Finishing departments and how these processes relate to carpet manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate what is ready to run and what needs to be struck to the Operator, SewOn and Supervisor.
  • Assign buggies and runs when necessary.
  • Check assignment sheets at SewOn to verify that special instructions are included.
  • Oversee and help set up tests and experiments.
  • Assist with solution of any production problems.
  • Provide the fluidyer operator with information concerning upcoming runs and strikes.
  • Assign runs, strikes to be dyed, and spacers.
  • Determine the length of lead off material needed between each run or strikes.
  • Utilize computer to print out, modify, and complete formulas.
  • Provide tank build and tank add information to Dye Weigher via verbal communication or formula extension printouts.
  • Follow procedures as outlined in SMS.
  • Evaluate shifts in color.
  • Perform quality control tests.
  • Perform weekend cleanup and startup functions.
  • Report safety and quality risks and incidents immediately.
  • Must be knowledgeable and up to date on job procedures and safety requirements.
  • Abide by and enforce plant safety rules and regulations.
  • Know evacuation routes, locations of storm shelters, and gathering places.
  • Must comply with all required OSHA, SAFE, and Plant specific safety rules and regulations.
