About The Position

Third Future Schools is seeking a DYAD Elective Dance Consultant for Westlawn Elementary in Texarkana, TX. This role is part of the DYAD program, which connects classroom learning with community-based expertise to provide students with meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities. The consultant will lead engaging elective classes focused on dance, designed to build critical thinking, communication, creativity, and other essential 21st-century skills. The DYAD model emphasizes experiential learning, bridging the gap between the classroom and the community by bringing in individuals with real-world knowledge. The consultant will provide an experience through their expertise, helping students build confidence, communication, and habits of success while preparing them for future goals and real-world readiness.

Requirements

Skill, knowledge, and first-hand experience in dance.
Ability to work effectively with students in a school setting.
Strong communication, organization, and classroom leadership skills.
Ability to provide structured, engaging, and experience-based learning.

Responsibilities

Provide engaging, structured, and experience-based instruction in dance.
Develop and provide their own curriculum aligned to the elective they teach.
Independently plan, lead, and manage a class that reflects both their expertise and the expectations of the DYAD program.
Create a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment.
Actively teach, monitor, and engage students throughout the class period.
Maintain strong classroom management and uphold school expectations.
Ensure students are participating in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
Communicate professionally with campus staff and leadership.
Be prepared, consistent, and dependable in daily instruction.
Use their expertise to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.
Contribute positively to the culture of the school and the integrity of the DYAD program.
Create opportunities for parents and families to see and celebrate what students have accomplished through class showcases, presentations, or other demonstrations of learning.
