About The Position

Third Future Schools is seeking a DYAD Art Consultant for its South Elementary school in Midland, TX. This role involves leading engaging elective art classes for students as part of the DYAD Electives program. DYAD Electives is an experiential learning model designed to foster critical thinking, communication, creativity, and other 21st-century skills through hands-on activities. The Art Consultant will leverage their real-world knowledge and expertise to provide students with meaningful, hands-on artistic experiences, helping them build creativity, confidence, self-expression, problem-solving skills, and habits of success. The DYAD program connects classroom learning with community-based expertise, bridging the gap between academic settings and practical application.

Requirements

Skill, knowledge, and first-hand experience in art or a related creative field.
Ability to work effectively with students in a school setting.

Responsibilities

Provide engaging, structured, and experience-based instruction in art.
Develop and provide their own curriculum aligned to the elective they teach.
Independently plan, lead, and manage a class that reflects both their expertise and the expectations of the DYAD program.
Create a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment.
Actively teach, monitor, and engage students throughout the class period.
Maintain strong classroom management and uphold school expectations.
Ensure students are participating in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
Communicate professionally with campus staff and leadership.
Be prepared, consistent, and dependable in daily instruction.
Use their expertise to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.
Contribute positively to the culture of the school and the integrity of the DYAD program.
Create opportunities for parents and families to see and celebrate what students have accomplished through art showcases, presentations, displays, or other demonstrations of learning.
