About The Position

Third Future Schools is seeking a DYAD Art Consultant to lead engaging elective art classes for students at Prescott Academy in Baton Rouge, LA. This role is part of the DYAD Electives program, which uses a specialized experiential learning model to build 21st-century skills through hands-on experiences. The DYAD model connects classroom learning with community-based expertise, bringing individuals with real-world knowledge to provide meaningful learning opportunities. The Art Consultant will foster creativity, confidence, self-expression, problem-solving skills, and habits of success through artistic instruction and experiences.

Requirements

Skill, knowledge, and first-hand experience in art or a related creative field.
Ability to work effectively with students in a school setting.
Strong communication, organization, and classroom leadership skills.
Ability to provide structured, engaging, and experience-based learning.
Commitment to professionalism, consistency, and student engagement.

Responsibilities

Provide engaging, structured, and experience-based instruction in art.
Develop and provide their own curriculum aligned to the elective they teach.
Independently plan, lead, and manage a class that reflects both their expertise and the expectations of the DYAD program.
Create a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment.
Actively teach, monitor, and engage students throughout the class period.
Maintain strong classroom management and uphold school expectations.
Ensure students are participating in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
Communicate professionally with campus staff and leadership.
Be prepared, consistent, and dependable in daily instruction.
Use their expertise to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.
Contribute positively to the culture of the school and the integrity of the DYAD program.
Create opportunities for parents and families to see and celebrate what students have accomplished through art showcases, presentations, displays, or other demonstrations of learning.
