About The Position

Focused Pet Care is seeking compassionate, team-oriented, and communicative 1st through 4th-year veterinary students for a paid externship. This opportunity allows students to enhance their education through real-world experience at a 24/7 emergency hospital. Focused Pet Care is a dedicated, multi-doctor emergency hospital serving Port Orange and surrounding Central Florida communities, operating 365 days a year. The hospital is equipped with a hospital-grade ICU, in-house laboratory and diagnostics, oxygen therapy, a fully stocked blood bank with transfusion capability, and critical care support from experienced emergency veterinarians and technicians. The team prides itself on delivering exceptional medical care with genuine compassion, treating every patient as if they were their own pet and communicating clearly with families during stressful situations. The mission is to provide every pet with the best possible chance at recovery and to support their families with empathy, honesty, and professionalism.

Requirements

• Must be an Active Veterinary Student from an AVMA Accredited Institution.
