About The Position

The Duty Manager Station Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of ground service and customer service at Horizon Air. As a people leader, the Duty Manager leads and establishes priorities for the team to safely run service operations in a challenging, fast-paced environment, while maintaining strict compliance standards and customer service expectations.

Requirements

  • 5 years customer service experience, preferably with proven skills in passenger service or station operations.
  • 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Experience with scheduling shift work, budget controls, administering discipline and demonstrated motivation skills.
  • Regular and predictable attendance and ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrated diplomacy and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with TSA, FAA, and IATA regulations and requirements related to ground handling and passenger boarding.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all phases of airport daily operation with full authority to make decisions critical to running a successful operation while maintaining and demonstrating a safety culture that incorporates “Ready, Safe, GO.”
  • Manage and ensure that staffing levels are adequate in all operational areas. Day-to-day oversight to ensure lunch breaks and break schedules meet operational flow.
  • Make recommendations to the Manager Station Operations regarding appropriate changes to ensure quality service and operational goals are achieved while meeting established productivity goals.
  • Assess airport operation situation and respond in a manner that maintains operational reliability while ensuring safety, compliance and excellent customer service.
  • Provide feedback or act on employee performance with recommendations for appropriate coaching and/or development if needed.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Flight Operations, Inflight and MCO to decide acceptable passenger, baggage and on-time performance impacts due to off schedule operations.
  • Liaise with the Station Training Supervisor on training needs/opportunities with the station and implement any procedural or process changes as they relate to the arrival or departure of aircraft, passenger flow, balancing, and baggage make-up and delivery.
  • Responsible for employee recognition and attaining operational performance goals such as time to carousel and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversight for all investigations on your shift, as required, such as injuries, incidents, or accidents.
