About The Position

Second-61 is seeking a Duty Controller to work at Scott Air Force Base near O’Fallon, IL. This role involves providing technical support for hardware, systems, sub-systems, and/or applications for the client as the primary service technician. The Duty Controller will develop strategies to foster teamwork, promote excellence, and exude integrity as a leader on the team.

Requirements

  • One of these IAT Level II certifications: Security+, CECCNA-Security, CySA+ , GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP
  • A Computing Environment (CE) certification or certificate for the technical area of responsibility in either Network support/defense (e.g., Splunk, Cisco, McAfee, etc.) OR (e.g., Microsoft, Linux, Solaris, etc.)
  • Help Desk Institute Customer Service Representative Certification - or willing to obtain
  • Exceptional expertise and experience in the technical field. Must have Subject Matter Expert knowledge and expertise, recognized as an industry leader.
  • Position is only open to US Citizens
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be available to participate in on-call work on a reoccurring basis.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills and demonstrated ability of end-to-end problem management and ownership.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor servers, cloud services, and other systems to ensure essential services are highly available and secure.
  • Create, disseminate, catalog, and store critical reports and sensitive records.
  • Apply extensive training to meet the time-sensitive needs of key clients in global operations.
  • Assist in establishing a secure server location for the additional processing and distribution of key project data.
  • Analyze network and system issues to meet client SLA requirements.
  • Update client network architecture, install VOIP phones, and change ISPs.
  • Diagnose and resolve any network issues in accordance with client SLAs.
  • Analyze and proactively recommend necessary updates or changes to client networking infrastructure.
  • Utilize advanced tools to monitor global networks to ensure system availability and security.
  • Collaborate with team members to effectively evaluate and interpret key information, identifying organizational needs and proper courses of action.
  • Update and create documentation on client networks, configurations, and best solutions for common issues.
  • Provide high-level subject matter proficiency for work described in the task.
  • Provide advanced technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environment, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, training, and implementation advice on complex problems that require doctorate level knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.
  • Provide status reporting to management and customer.
