About The Position

Durable Medical Services Representatives provide customer service to clients and referral sources, conduct over-the-counter sales, prepare DME orders from start to finish, and act as the main customer contact for SBL Home Medical Equipment. The DME Service Representative is a fast-paced position responsible for patient registration and intake of durable medical equipment for Sarah Bush Lincoln Home Medical Equipment. Interested individuals must be comfortable using computers, providing exceptional customer service, have critical thinking skills, and the ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in account receivable management.
  • Assists in assembling customer charts and filing paperwork appropriately.
  • Assists in resolving customer equipment problems and issues.
  • Develops and maintains working knowledge of current home care products and services offered, and all applicable insurance guidelines regarding eligibility for coverage and reimbursement.
  • Ensures all billing, posting, insurance denials, inquiries, orders, deliveries, service, and pickups are handled in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Gathers and coordinates all customer information and processes paperwork, including preparation of paperwork for billing process.
  • Monitors office supply levels and places appropriate orders as approved by the Durable Medical Services Manager.
  • Performs over-the-counter sales functions, and handles cash transactions efficiently and accurately. Performs the end-of-the-day cash account balance.
  • Provides recommendations to callers and walk-in customers regarding supplies and equipment that can be utilized to meet the customer’s needs.
  • Screens and directs telephone calls, and takes orders from referral sources.
  • Verifies insurance eligibility of clients.
