About The Position

Every piece of equipment delivered, cleaned, and maintained plays an important role in helping hospice patients remain comfortable and supported. As a DME Technician, you will be a vital member of the hospice team, ensuring that medical equipment is safe, reliable, and ready when patients and families need it most. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values organization and teamwork, and wants to make a meaningful contribution to hospice care. The DME Technician is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and managing medical equipment used by hospice patients. Working from our equipment warehouse, you will help ensure timely access to the supplies and equipment that support comfort, dignity, and quality of life for those receiving end-of-life care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Basic computer skills and ability to accurately document activities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and transport medical equipment
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Automobile insurance meeting state minimum requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare, medical equipment, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Clean, disinfect, and sanitize medical equipment according to organizational and regulatory standards
  • Inspect equipment to ensure proper operation and patient safety
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs as needed
  • Assemble, disassemble, and prepare equipment for patient use
  • Ensure equipment is delivery-ready and meets quality standards
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for equipment and supplies
  • Track equipment distribution, returns, and maintenance activities
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment
  • Help ensure adequate supply levels to meet patient needs
  • Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment
  • Load and unload equipment and supplies
  • Assist with staging equipment for deliveries and pickups
  • Follow warehouse safety procedures and operational guidelines
  • Work closely with DME delivery staff and clinical teams to support patient care needs
  • Respond to internal inquiries regarding equipment availability and status
  • Assist with staff education related to equipment handling and safety procedures
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on serving patients and families
