About The Position

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is a leading conservation organization with a global reach. NatureVest is its impact investment unit, aiming to integrate natural capital into financial markets for a sustainable economy. The Durable Finance Team within NatureVest focuses on designing financial strategies for Project Finance for Permanence (PFP) deals, which consolidate various forms of capital into a single transaction to fund long-term conservation initiatives. The Durable Finance Manager will lead the financial aspects of assigned PFP deals, including financial modeling, stakeholder workshops, and the design of sustainable finance mechanisms (SFMs). This role involves close collaboration with complex, cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful closing of PFP transactions.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field and 7 years related experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
  • Experience managing multiple complex tasks.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Desire to be challenged, work with limited guidance, and cultivate a more sustainable future with your own energy and innovation.
  • Experience with financial issues or analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and advance financial strategies for PFP deals in partnership with in-country and global teams.
  • Manage and implement complex project work plans, including coordinating sustainable finance workstreams, defining deliverables, setting deadlines, and ensuring accountability.
  • Coordinate with project directors and other staff within TNC teams to ensure alignment of objectives and joint pursuit of outcomes.
  • Develop and review interim and final deliverables, such as financial models, concept notes, strategy documents, and approval abstracts.
  • Support project teams in delivering work products at the required standard and in managing dependencies between workstreams.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners, especially within governments.
  • Hire and manage outside consultants as needed to augment project capacity.
  • Assist in the preparation and facilitation of sustainable finance workshops and other consultations in-country.
  • Work across multiple time zones, which may include working outside normal working hours.
  • Travel both domestically and internationally.
