About The Position

Lucy School seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Dungeons & Dragons instructor to lead a weekly after-school club for students in Grades 4–8 and a weekly middle school elective during the school day. The ideal candidate is passionate about tabletop role-playing games and understands how Dungeons & Dragons can foster creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, storytelling, and social-emotional growth. The instructor will create an inclusive and engaging environment where students can develop characters, participate in adventures, and build confidence through cooperative play.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience playing and/or serving as a Dungeon Master for Dungeons & Dragons.
  • Experience working with children in educational, recreational, camp, youth development, or similar settings.
  • Strong classroom management and group facilitation skills.
  • Ability to create a positive, engaging learning environment that reflects Lucy School's student-centered philosophy.
  • Reliable, organized, and enthusiastic about working with young people.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a one-hour weekly after-school Dungeons & Dragons program for students in Grades 4–8.
  • Teach a one-hour weekly middle school elective focused on Dungeons & Dragons, storytelling, world-building, game design, or related topics.
  • Plan and lead age-appropriate campaigns and activities that encourage creativity, teamwork, communication, and critical thinking.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for students of varying experience levels.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff regarding scheduling, student participation, and program needs.
