Requirements

  • Less than high school diploma accepted.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in basic English (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend safety instructions, rules and warnings for self and others in both normal and emergency situations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work around noise levels in the work environment that range from moderate to loud.

Responsibilities

  • Dumping filled baskets of cooked potatoes and manually lifting baskets to palletize the baskets of potatoes onto pallets.
  • Comply with safety work rules at all times and reinforce safety as a Core Value.
  • Ensure that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
  • Keeping product flow at an optimal level by assuring proper potato supply.
  • Recording cook information in order to account for all dumped pallets.
  • Setting up dump room equipment according to the products scheduled to run.
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed for recording pallet information.
  • Identifying and removing damaged baskets.
  • Continually placing filled baskets of potatoes onto pallets.
  • Assuring that each basket is filled properly with high-quality potatoes and that it is placed properly on the pallet.
  • Communicate relevant information to fellow employees on the shift and to oncoming employee, department lead and/or Supervisor at shift change.
  • General cleaning of equipment and maintaining good housekeeping throughout the department.
  • Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
  • Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
