About The Position

This position is responsible for setting up and operating the mechanical dumper while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Applicants will be considered for any general production opening. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

• 6 months of continuous employment with 1 employer within the past 12 months
• Must be able to use basic hand tools
• Must be able to perform basic mechanical and maintenance functions
• Must be able to read and complete required logs
• Must be able to communicate with supervisor and co-workers via two-way radio
• Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

Nice To Haves

• 3 consecutive months Operator experience within the last 2 years (must be documented on application or resume)
• Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days
• Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods

Responsibilities

• Setting up and operating the mechanical dumper
• Maintaining a safe work environment
• Adhering to Tyson policies and procedures
• Standing for long periods of time
• Lifting up to 50 pounds
• Shoveling
• Climbing stairs and ladders up to 60 feet
• Bending, stretching, reaching
• Working in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors
• Using basic hand tools
• Performing basic mechanical and maintenance functions
• Maintaining clean work area by use of soap and high pressure hose
• Reading and completing required logs
• Communicating with supervisor and co-workers via two-way radio
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Operating frontend loader or forklift (may be required)
• Obtaining certification to operate frontend loader or forklift (if required)
