About The Position

Join the Center for Community Engagement at Westminster University! We are hiring students passionate about civic engagement, service, education, and leadership. We have roles for students at various levels of experience, from entry-level coordinators to leadership positions. We offer several student positions, including: Level II – Coordinator & Communications Roles: - Dumke Community Fellow L2: Partner with a local nonprofit for meaningful service and career experience. - Community Engagement Coordinator L2: Coordinate service opportunities and build partnerships. - Dumke Community Engaged Griffin L2: Work with a local nonprofit for a semester. - Centers for Centers Communications Intern L2: Manage social media, email marketing, and promotional content. Level IV – Leadership, Education, & Strategic Roles: - Lead Community Engagement Coordinator L4: Mentor Level II Coordinators and oversee key partnerships. - Walkways to Westminster Tutor L4: Provide academic support and mentorship to K-12 students. - Walkways to Westminster Lead L4: Provide academic support and mentorship to K-12 students. - Dumke Center Intern L4: Assist with strategic planning, research, and special initiatives. - Community Engaged Griffin Grants Manager L4: Lead service projects, manage grants, and document engagement. Ideal candidates are committed to community engagement, equity, and inclusive leadership, and are organized, dependable, team-oriented, and eager to learn and take initiative.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled Westminster University student
  • Must meet campus employment eligibility (work-study or campus-funded)
  • Must maintain satisfactory academic standing

Responsibilities

  • Plan, promote, and staff events and service activities
  • Conduct campus outreach and raise awareness
  • Track participation and maintain digital records
  • Collaborate with team members and community partners
  • Lead or co-lead student programs and teams
  • Facilitate workshops, tutoring, or leadership development sessions
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships on and off campus
  • Contribute to program evaluation and impact storytelling
  • Partner with a local nonprofit to engage in meaningful service, gain career experience, and create a year-end reflection showcasing your impact.
  • Coordinate service opportunities and build partnerships with local organizations
  • Support campus and community partnerships
  • Manage social media, email marketing, and promotional content across multiple engagement programs
  • Mentor Level II Coordinators and oversee key partnerships or recurring programs.
  • Provide academic support and mentorship to K–12 students in schools and community spaces.
  • Assist with strategic planning, research, and special initiatives across the Center.
  • Lead collaborative service projects with local nonprofits, manage a small grant budget, and document impactful community engagement experiences
