DUI Program Counselor
About The Position
Recover Medical Group is a startup dedicated to improving the effectiveness, accessibility, and affordability of mental health and addiction treatment. Their programs offer outpatient behavioral health services, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), case management, and educational services, for individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. Recover Medical Group employs a harm-reduction approach and prioritizes serving marginalized and underserved communities.
Requirements
- Certified or registered as a CADC-I, CADC-II, or equivalent AOD counselor credential recognized by DHCS.
- Knowledge of Title 9 DUI Program regulations and documentation requirements.
- At least 1 year of experience providing substance use counseling services, preferably in a DUI or outpatient setting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with court-referred populations or community corrections programs.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate DUI education and counseling groups using approved curricula that address substance use, driving risks, and relapse prevention.
- Conduct individual counseling sessions and client check-ins in accordance with Title 9 requirements and program phase timelines.
- Complete all intake, orientation, and exit interviews, ensuring participants understand program rules and expectations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and other tracking systems.
- Monitor participant attendance, progress, and compliance with DMV and court orders.
- Prepare and submit all required progress reports, completion certificates, and re-enrollment documents.
- Uphold ethical and professional standards consistent with DHCS, DMC-ODS, and agency policy.
