About The Position

Vortex Metal Manufacturing is seeking a Duct Fabricator who is willing and capable of learning all aspects of duct manufacturing. The Fabricator must have the ability to collaborate with the team while possessing the aptitude to collect data and independently make good decisions in real time based on those facts. The Fabricator must be self-motivated and have the perceptive skills to identify inconsistencies in the product and equipment, and develop solutions. Having an uncompromising commitment to safety is a requirement. Training on specific equipment and processes will be provided.

Requirements

  • Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to read, write, and interpret simple documents and instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations to employees, and members of leadership.
  • Must be able to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
  • Must have the willingness to rotate to different positions as requested by manager or team leader.
  • Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize our proprietary database to receive and complete duct fabrication for the day, or take direction from the leadership team to prioritize jobs and fabricate orders according to the schedule.
  • Fabricate duct according to our quality standards and duct specifications.
  • Monitor equipment for proper operation and notify leadership of any issues.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of the product.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and brings safety issues to the attention of department leadership or safety manager.
  • Follow all work procedures, policies, and protocols.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the leadership team.
