About The Position

Passaic County Community College is seeking a part-time Dual Enrollment Advisor. This position supports Dual Enrolled students with advisement, registration and will guide students in achieving their academic, career and personal goals. This position will spend time at partner high schools and reports to the Director of Early College and Dual Enrollment. This is a part-time, administrative position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to understand and apply college policies
  • Maintain essential and confidential records
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office required
  • The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference for counseling, education or related field
  • Higher education or high school experience preferred
  • Bilingual or multilingual preferred

Responsibilities

  • Advise students, families, and school personnel on all aspects of the dual enrollment and early college programs.
  • Convey information about college programs, policies and procedures including the application process, placement and registration.
  • Assist students with course planning and scheduling.
  • Accurately report and document student interactions and program activities to ensure compliance with PCCC regulations as well as the partner high school.
  • Provide onboarding and support for Dual Enrollment students.
  • Provide outreach to students using email, phone, video, or in-person meetings.
  • Refer students to college support services based on individual needs.
  • Work with the academic advising staff to promote guidelines and information on academic programs and make appropriate referrals to academic advisors.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
