About The Position

The DT Driver is responsible for transporting vehicles between dealerships, ensuring all paperwork, keys, and books are exchanged correctly. This role requires excellent navigational skills, the ability to drive and walk for extended periods, and adherence to all traffic and dealership regulations. The driver acts as a representative of Pedersen Toyota, maintaining a positive and polite demeanor. Work assignments do not follow a set schedule, requiring flexibility and quick response to assignment requests. The driver must also ensure vehicles are kept clean and in good condition.

Requirements

• Valid Colorado Driver’s License with a clean driving record acceptable to dealership’s insurance company.
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions.
• Ability to take direction from management.
• Excellent navigational skills and proficiency using GPS smartphone apps.
• Ability to sit and drive for extended periods (ranging from 1 to 5+ hours per trip).
• Ability to walk long distances and across uneven surfaces (such as large dealership inventory lots or gravel transfer stations).
• No cell phone use while operating a company vehicle. Drivers are asked to stop the vehicle in a safe location during the use of these devices.

Responsibilities

• Transport vehicles between dealerships.
• Ensure correct paperwork, keys, and books are exchanged during dealer trades.
• Check the vehicle being received for any damage or high mileage prior to accepting it.
• Contact the inventory manager if any problems exist with a vehicle prior to accepting it.
• Keep vehicles in your care clean.
• Obey all speed limits and public road regulations.
• Obey Pedersen property speed limit of five mph.
• Perform other duties as may be directed by the inventory manager.
