About The Position
InReach is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work as an Independent Contractor providing Respite Services for a young adult male with developmental disabilities in the Weddington/Matthews area of Union County. This role involves providing companionship, care, and support, including instruction and assistance in home living, facilitating community integration, helping develop social habits, dispensing medication, and transportation to various activities. This is a PRN position with flexible scheduling, requiring 10-15 hours per week.
Requirements
- High school diploma (or GED)
- Valid driver's license
- Successfully pass a drug screen and background check
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of experience with the I/DD population preferred.
Responsibilities
- Instruction and assistance in home living environments.
- Help individual identify and acquire valued social roles.
- Facilitate community integration.
- Help individual develop healthy social habits.
- Dispense medication and monitoring dosages.
- Transport and accompany individual to and from day programs, work sites, and community activities.
