DSP Direct Care Worker
About The Position
Golden Heart is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide in-home and community-based support to individuals including adults with intellectual disabilities across Iowa. We are seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to work either an 8hr shift or 2.5-4hr shifts (paid drive time), providing consistent, high-quality care in a home-like setting. We provide paid training and ongoing support to help you succeed, apply today! Golden Heart Senior Care provides companion care, non-medical home care services, and personal care for clients in their homes. Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid driver’s license (preferred but not required for all roles)
- Ability to pass a background check
- Compassionate, reliable, and willing to learn
Responsibilities
- Providing Direct Care and working alongside other Support Staff in the home for clients with disabilities (intellectual or behavioral)
- Personal care and assistance with daily living activities (ADLs)
- Meal preparation, housekeeping, and home management tasks
- Transportation to appointments and community activities
- Medication reminders (with training provided)
- Documentation of services provided
- Encouraging independence and supporting client goals
- Ensuring a safe and supportive environment throughout shifts
