This position is key in the timely billing and collecting of revenues due INDOT as a result of Damage to State Property (DSP) caused by vehicular accidents (signs, guardrails, bridges, etc.) and vandalism. This position is responsible for following up with insurance companies to obtain claim information, sending documentation to driver/owners of non-insured parties, and sending documentation to the insurance companies as necessary. This position is also responsible for the creation of third-party collection packets. The amounts billed to drivers/insurance companies represent the costs to repair items that are critical to the safety of the public that utilizes Indiana's highway transportation system. The collection of the funds support INDOT's budget required to repair the damage caused by the accident. This position interacts with insurance companies, vehicle owners, and drivers of vehicles responsible for DSP to facilitate payment of invoices representing $12-14 million annually.
