What Success Looks Like Drywall crews understand their goals, expectations, schedules, and responsibilities. Projects are appropriately staffed, and labor is adjusted proactively as needs change. Work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Gardner’s quality standards. Foremen and carpenters receive meaningful coaching that strengthens craftsmanship, accountability, and leadership. Materials, tools, information, and site conditions are ready when crews need them. Challenges involving schedule, scope, production, or team dynamics are addressed promptly and thoughtfully. Project stakeholders receive timely, accurate communication and experience strong collaboration. Opportunities to improve safety, productivity, cost, quality, and the team member experience are identified and implemented.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of commercial drywall carpentry experience, including five or more years leading crews, teams, or multiple projects.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial drywall systems, construction sequencing, production planning, quality standards, and performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated experience with labor scheduling, workforce planning, and resource allocation.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and engineered drawings.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, jobsite safety practices, permitting, inspections, labor requirements, and union rules.
  • Strong communication, organization, critical-thinking, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • A valid driver’s license, an acceptable motor vehicle record, and the ability to travel between jobsites throughout the Twin Cities metro area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tactical leadership, coaching, and support to drywall foremen and carpenters across multiple projects.
  • Take ownership of drywall scope outcomes, including schedule, quality, safety, productivity, and crew performance.
  • Coordinate labor, tools, materials, deliveries, production goals, and project schedules across multiple jobsites.
  • Partner with project managers, superintendents, foremen, vendors, and trade partners to resolve field challenges and maintain alignment.
  • Support project startup and closeout through layout planning, material orders, RFIs, job walks, kickoff meetings, pull planning, and lessons learned.
  • Onboard and train new team members while providing ongoing feedback, performance coaching, and formal evaluations.
  • Visit jobsites regularly to monitor progress, reinforce safety expectations, verify quality, and support field teams.
  • Maintain accurate schedules, timecards, project updates, and other documentation using Procore and related systems.
