About The Position

The Drywall Finisher at Higgins Group, Inc. works in the Commercial Walls and Ceilings Division on business, institutional, and large-scale construction projects. The role prepares and finishes drywall surfaces to produce smooth, seamless walls and ceilings ready for final paint or coatings, while meeting quality, safety, and customer-satisfaction standards. Applicants must be able to provide verification of base privileges. Employment is contingent on passing the required drug and alcohol screening, physical, and E-Verify authorization.

Requirements

Must be able to work on military installations and provide verification of base privileges.
Must provide and maintain personal drywall finishing tools.
Ability to perform physical job duties.
Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated surfaces.
Must pass UA/PCP drug and alcohol screening.
Employment is contingent on E-Verify authorization.
Must comply with safety policies.

Nice To Haves

Four or more years of drywall finishing experience.
Experience with finishing tools other than a pan and knife.
Ability to work safely on drywall stilts.
Experience in fast-paced environments.
Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Prepare and finish drywall surfaces to meet client and industry quality standards.
Identify and correct imperfections, including cracks, seams, and surface irregularities.
Install corner bead and reinforcement materials.
Prepare surfaces for final paint or coatings.
Follow OSHA and company safety policies.
Maintain clean and organized job sites.
Coordinate with leadership and project teams.
Communicate progress and material needs.
Mentor less experienced finishers.
